farmer and son
A father and son team incorporating zero-tillage farming techniques at Agadi Farm, Sudan
Farming at Agadi Farm, Sudan
Agadi Commercial farm is located 360 Miles South of Khartoum between the Blue and White Nile Rivers.
Agadi farm is huge, roughly 220,000 Acres divided into 1000 Acre blocks.
Initially we will be farming one of these blocks, and looking to add in blocks as investment grows.Â
We will practice dryland zero-tillage farming on rainfall of 624mm/annum (June-October)
Our main crops will be Cotton, Sorghum, Maize and Sesame.
Why we farm in Sudan
Knowledge of the Land
William Berry our Co-Founder has extensive experience farming on African Soils. He began farming at Agadi farm  in 2001, and has been involved in its success ever since. As farm manager he also employs local Sudanese farmers who bring their local knowledge to the project.
Favorable conditions for Crop growth
It is no secret that African soils are some of the best on the planet for growing crops. The terrain is vast, flat and filled with nutrients. Agadi farm, located between the Blue and White Nile rivers, has good soil, enough water and plenty of sunshine.
Cost
Farming in Sudan is significantly cheaper than farming in America. An acre of land in the USA rents for about $140/Acre. That same Acre rents for a total cost of $6/Acre in Sudan. Cost of labor is also significantly less in Sudan as compared to America.Â
Sudanese farms are also rain fed. With an average rainfall of 624mm/annum, we spend less on irrigation which can be the greatest cost to any farm.Â
Another cost saver is fertilization. Sudanese soils are nutrient rich, requiring less fertilizer to sustain the crop.

Invest with Us
Beginning in 2020 we will open up a seed round of investment. We will begin farming a 1000 Acre plot of land, and look to grow plots as investment grows. You will earn a 15% return on investment.
Crop insurance will be made available to investors at a cost of 5% of return, thus reducing return to 10%.
Giving Back
Farmer and Son is committed to hiring local Sudanese workers in our fields. This will provide them with two valuable resources: The first is the money to support their families. The second is education and better, more sustainable farming practices.
Added to this we pledge to return 3% of the harvest to the local community.
